What We Do
The Grand River Hospital Volunteer Association (GRHVA) is an operational Not for Profit focused on providing an exceptional experience to the WRHN community through products, services, and
financial contributions generated from our not-for-profit operations. At the GRHVA, our volunteers and employees are at the heart of everything we do. They bring an unmatched level of compassion, energy, and skill to various roles within the hospital. One of our most notable initiatives is the management of key hospital businesses, including the bustling Tim Hortons outlets and the inviting gift shops located at both the WRHN @Midtown and @Chicopee. These enterprises are more than just revenue sources; they are vital hubs of community interaction and service, offering comfort and convenience to patients, staff, and visitors.
The Tim Hortons outlets, operated by our diligent staff, serve as warm and welcoming spaces where people can enjoy a moment of respite over a cup of coffee. Each purchase made here goes beyond just a transaction; it's a contribution to our overarching goal of supporting the hospital's needs.
Similarly, our gift shops are not just retail spaces but are part of the healing environment of the hospital. Staffed by our friendly volunteers, these shops offer a variety of gifts, and personal items, catering to the diverse needs of those who walk through the hospital's doors. The profits from these shops are channeled directly into enhancing patient care and hospital facilities, making every purchase a gesture of support and care for the community.
Beyond these business endeavours, GRHVA is actively involved in providing supplementary patient services, including organizing events, and contributing to the hospital's welcoming atmosphere. Our volunteers are trained to not only assist in these businesses but also to embody the values of empathy, respect, and kindness in every interaction.
Our Association's commitment extends to the WRHN Foundation, where we contribute financial support garnered from our various initiatives. This symbiotic relationship allows us to have a tangible impact on the quality of healthcare in our region. For example, we have made a $150,000 donation to the foundation to support children's care at the hospital.
At the GRHVA, whether you're contributing as a volunteer, patronizing our businesses, or participating in our events, you are playing a crucial role in shaping a healthier, happier community. Together, we can continue to make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve at the WRHN.
