Wayne Buchholtz

Wayne Buchholtz has been a member of the Volunteer board since 2018 as a

Director at large and hopes to continue involvement for the next few years. Presently, he volunteers in patient registration as the gatekeeper. The role is busy and sometimes chaotic, to which he finds satisfaction and joy in. He began at the hospital in the resource center in the Cancer Center until COVID hit. Following his time at the Cancer Center, he volunteered at the Pinebush Vaccination clinic until it closed. By that time the hospital had reopened and he resumed volunteering at the hospital, hoping to return to the resource center when it reopens. Wayne’s career was in Education, where he was an elementary school principal for 27 years until retirement in 2003. Following retirement, he was on the WCDSB board for 11 years and served as Chair for 4 years. He has also served on the KPL Board for 8 years, 3 as Chair.

Wayne stays involved in the community in many ways, working at Rebel Creek golf course as the Tournament coordinator, serving on 3 other boards, volunteering with Reading Buddies at the library, and staying busy with 6 grandchildren. Wayne loves being involved and working with people and the community.
