Varun Krishnammagaru

Varun Krishnammagaru joined the Grand River Hospital Volunteer Association (GRHVA) in October 2020 as the Director of Finance, which is a role he served in until June 2022. From June 2022 – June 2023, he served as the Director of Operations and in June 2023, he took on the Vice-President role in addition to his operational role. In June 2025, he has handed off the operational role to focus solely on the Vice President role.  The Grand River Hospital has a strong place in Varun’s heart, given this is the hospital he was born in. Varun is the Controller of the group of companies within the Staffing Division at Bayshore Healthcare. He obtained his Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management and Masters of Accounting Degrees from the University of Waterloo, and later obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation working with EY. While at the University of Waterloo, Varun played on the Varsity Baseball Team for five years and was twice named an Academic All Canadian. In his spare time, Varun loves to spend quality time and share new experiences with his friends and family. In addition to this, he has a passion for sports and loves to spend time with his dog, Brady.
